The Basics
Structured cabling schemes support connections from specific points around a building to a central patching location. This then provides your business with a unified infrastructure that can support data, voice and video communications by simply plugging in the appropriate adapter.
Installation
We are able to offer two different speeds of structured copper cabling, Category 5e (100 Mbit/s) and 6 (1000 Mbit/s) for the following areas:
- Equipment Rooms – hosting computer and telecomms equipment which serve the users inside the building.
- Horizontal Cabling – connect equipment rooms to individual outlets on the floor.
- Work-Area Components – connect end-user equipment to outlets of the horizontal cabling system.
Category 5e cabling is suitable for smaller businesses using basic services such as web browsing and email, but do not transfer large amounts of data around. Category 6 cabling is more suited to bigger business that wish to move greater amounts of data, including voice and video, and have a larger user base. Installing Category 6 cabling in small businesses however allows for better future proofing.
All installations are tested and certified at the time of installation.
Testing
If you are having problems with an existing network we are able to test your infrastructure to diagnose faults.
