A new Linux-based server has been installed at a leading wealth management company in Kent by LIR.
The faster, 64-bit server has replaced an older model which ran for 3 years – providing the internet gateway, firewall, shared file storage and email for the firm of financial advisers.
Their new server now has a secure tunnel across the internet which provides daily backup to a remote location of all client files, and access for the company director if travelling to the office is not possible.
An international company has chosen LIR to fulfil their IT needs at their new offices in Kent.
The contract will require LIR to advise and supply new internet facilities, a Linux-based server to store their design files and emails, plus complete network wiring. LIR will also advise on a new backup solution.
The company specialises in the design and supply of inflatable rubber dams and spillway gates. The company has been involved in rubber dam business in Europe since 1989 and in spillway gate business since 1997.
The contract will start before the company have left their existing office, and is expected to be completed in March.
